About Me I am a textile artist working with a variety of media including recycled materials - for example news paper, aluminum cans and garden wire ! My inspiration comes from many sources - vegetables, iron work, Gormanghast, a recent a trip to Egypt, the Phantom of the Opera and Rust to name a few!! Education 1989 - I taught myself Bobbin Lace making. 1990 - The Open College of Arts course - Textiles I. 1992 - City and Guilds Creative Studies 7900 (038) Embroidery Part 1 by Correspondence with Sian Martin - Seven years later I completed the course. 2000 - City and Guilds Creative Skills Certificate - Textile Surface Decoration with Valerie Campbell-Harding. 2001 - City and Guilds Creative Studies 7900 (038) Embroidery Part II with Sian Martin. 2003 - City and Guilds Machine Embroidery course 7822 with Valerie Campbell-Harding 2001 - City and Guilds Creative Studies 7900 (038) Embroidery Part II with Sian Martin. 2003 - City and Guilds Machine Embroidery course 7822 with Valerie Campbell-Harding 2004 - City and Guilds Machine Embroidery course 7922 with Valerie Campbell-Harding 2005 - HNC Stitched Textiles with by distance learning. 2007 - City and Guilds Historical Heirlooms 7822-83 with Janet Crowther. I would like to express my deep sadness about the death of Val Campbell-Harding on 5th October 2006. She was the most inspirational tutor, I will really miss her encouragement and enthusiasm.
